Simplify reporting options and speed up the process
Get to the information you require with our step by step reporting using the Report Wizard. It sits front and centre as you log in, in the New Report tile:
Report Wizard Options
The report wizard has conveniently placed your reporting in one location. Not only has it taken existing report types and made them easier to use, report wizard also guides you through your options when compiling your data and classification.
Landscapes
In the Landscapes section of the report wizard, you have the the option to:
- Generate a landscape report using the first option
- Find new families in a tech space by reporting on a recent time period (accession date is used here, which is the date that the information was uploaded to Cipher).
Not only has this addition ensured reporting can be done from one location, but it's also made it easier to search for new families in a tech space over your selected time period.
Classify Patents
In the Classify Patents section of the report wizard, you have the option to:
- Select your organisation or organisations for your report, and then decide how you'd like to group them i.e. classifiers/UTT/clustering
- Classify a list of patents via a patent upload, whether thats from Cipher family ID or a file upload, or from a boolean search.
Again, not only has this placed reporting in one location, but it's also guiding you through the process to explain your options for classifying assets.
Assess Portfolios
Now here's where the report wizard is really exciting! The first three options here allow you to classify the assets of an organisation or group of organisations, however the output is then presented with a set of carefully selected charts so that you can:
- Compare technologies
- Benchmark against competitors
- Evaluate competitive intelligence
The option to then "Classify assets of similar organisations" allows you to type in an organisation name, and then Cipher will make suggestions for organisations with a similar portfolio based on links in citations between them. You select which you'd like to include in your report to compare portfolios:
Share patent data with other systems
This option is essentially a patent/file upload of assets similar to the upload option mentioned above, however the output of this is an export of the selected families to SPIF format which is a format recognised by many other platforms. See https://spif.group for more information. NB: Please note that reporting options may vary depending on your subscription type, for instance, if you don't subscribe to classifiers or UTT, clustering will be the default option for portfolio classification. Please do reach out to the Cipher team if you have any questions about the report wizard or if you'd like a guided tour of the changes.
