What data delivery options are available?
Overview
The LexisNexis® Global Patent Litigation Dataset (GPLD) is designed for integration into modern data and analytics environments, enabling you to access and analyze litigation data directly within your own systems.
Rather than using a traditional user interface, GPLD is delivered as a data product, allowing you to ingest, query, and integrate litigation intelligence into internal workflows, analytics platforms, and decision-making processes.
What data delivery options are available?
GPLD offers two primary delivery methods, depending on your technical environment and integration needs:
Direct Databricks Access if you're using Databricks as your analytics platform
Delta Sharing for flexible integration into external platforms without requiring Databricks
Both options enable secure, scalable access to global litigation data. Databricks and Delta Sharing provide API-like access through query and programmatic retrieval methods.
Direct Databricks Access
GPLD can be accessed through the Databricks data platform, where the dataset is made available within a managed environment.
Key capabilities include:
Access via Databricks workspace or marketplace
Query data using SQL, notebooks, or data pipelines
Integration with BI tools such as Power BI
Support for large-scale analytics and data processing
Note - A Databricks account is required.
This option is best suited if you want a fully integrated analytics environment for querying and analyzing litigation data.
Delta Sharing
GPLD can also be accessed via Delta Sharing, an open protocol that allows secure data sharing across platforms without requiring a Databricks account.
Key capabilities include:
Secure, token-based access
Compatible with platforms that support Delta Sharing
Programmatic access using Python or other programming languages
No Databricks account required
You're provided with a secure token that defines your data access. This enables you to retrieve and integrate data into your own systems and pipelines. This option is ideal if you want flexible integration into existing infrastructure or custom data environments.
