Information Provided in the Result List
The Result List includes a list of the patent families returned in your search results and a Family Viewer. The Family Viewer is arranged in cards. Each card provides a different set of information on each patent family.
By default, the Result List is sorted by the Competitive Impact. Click on "Competitive Impact" to adjust the sorting direction or to sort by a different measure or attribute.
|The cards in the Family Viewer provide overviews of the indicators, family members, prior and subsequent art, legal status, tags, and technology classification of the patent family displayed.
You can also check the legal status and the legal events of the entire patent family or of each of the family members.
In the top right corner of the Family Viewer, you can check the legal status of the patent family: it can be in force, pending, or inactive.
|In the "Family Members" card, you can check the legal status of each document that belongs to the patent family.
|Click on the legal status symbol of a document of interest to have its legal events displayed.
|Use the search box in the "Legal Events" dialog to filter for a document of interest.
Click on the copy icon to copy the legal events to the clipboard.
Use the Result List to view English versions of the title, abstract, claims, and description, and the drawings of any member of the patent family.

Using the Highlighting Functionality
The highlighting functionality allows you to have keywords of your choice highlighted throughout the entire Result List, i.e., in the title, abstract, claims, and description of each document in your search results.
Enter one or more keywords you want to have highlighted into the highlighting box.
If you enter multiple space-separated terms, these terms will be highlighted in different colors.
The highlighting functionality can only highlight exact sequences of characters. For example, if you enter "CTE" into the search window of the highlighting functionality, the character sequence "cte" will be highlighted everywhere it appears, including terms like "connected", "protected" or "contacted"
Note: The highlighting functionality does not support the use of wildcards. Moreover, it does not differentiate between lowercase and uppercase letters.
If you are using the full-text search in the search panel, the keywords from the search panel will be automatically transferred into the highlighting box in the Result List.
Note: The full-text search and the highlighting functionality are two different features, independent of one another. Although the keywords from your full-text search fields are automatically transferred into the highlighting box, the highlighting does not necessarily reflect the search results (hits) of the full-text search.
Only the target icon (◎) displayed under "Hit" in the card "Family Members" indicates which documents of the respective patent family meet the full-text search criteria as defined in the search panel (here: documents including the keyword "CTE" in the title).
