How to access the Search Data view
- SEPs tab
Introduction
The Search Data view on the IPlytics Platform is a powerful feature that allows users to delve into detailed, patent-by-patent analyses, SEP-by-SEP analyses, as well as standard contribution by standard contribution analyses. The search data view provides a granular level of insight into the vast array of data available on the platform. This view is designed to facilitate in-depth exploration of patents, declared SEPs, and standards contributions, enabling users to make informed decisions based on comprehensive data.
How to access the Search Data view
To access the Search Data view, you can run a search and select the 'Search Data' view in the results tab:
The Search Data view presents a table with all the information that you would like to oversee in the table format. You are able to select up to 10 columns in the Show/Hide columns tab:

Reviewing the Data
Upon accessing the Search Data view, users are presented with three distinct result aggregation tabs in the SEP database: Declarations, SEPs, and Families. Each tab offers a different level of granularity, allowing users to tailor their analysis to their specific needs.
Declarations Tab
1. This tab provides the lowest level of granularity, listing every unique patent and standard combination. It is particularly useful for users who need to examine each patent in detail, as it may list the same patent multiple times if it is declared to different standard documents. This level of detail is essential for thorough patent analysis and understanding the full scope of a patent's relevance to various standards.
SEPs Tab
2. The SEPs tab aggregates results by application serial number, providing a more streamlined view of declared standard documents associated with each unique patent. This tab is ideal for users who want to focus on the broader application of patents without getting bogged down in the minutiae of individual document declarations.
Families Tab
3. This tab offers an INPADOC extended family reduced result set, aggregating all declared standard documents to the unique patent family to which they belong. It presents one patent as the family representative, providing a comprehensive overview of the patent family's impact and relevance. This view is particularly useful for users interested in understanding the broader implications of patent families in the context of standard essential patents.
The Search Data view also includes a range of filtering options in the filter bar, allowing users to refine their results based on various criteria such as active status, granted status, technology generation, and more. This flexibility ensures that users can quickly and efficiently narrow down their search results to the most pertinent data.
Overall, the Search Data view on the IPlytics Platform is an invaluable tool for conducting detailed and precise analyses of patents and standards. By providing multiple levels of granularity and robust filtering options, it empowers users to navigate the complex landscape of patents and standards with confidence, supporting strategic decision-making and innovation.
