What is the Wi-Fi SEP search functionality?
The Wi-Fi SEP search functionality on the IPlytics Platform is a specialized tool designed to provide users with comprehensive insights into Standard Essential Patents (SEPs) related to Wi-Fi technology. As Wi-Fi continues to be a critical component of modern communication networks, understanding the patent landscape is essential for companies looking to innovate, compete, and collaborate in this dynamic field.
The IPlytics Platform offers tools to explore and analyze patents related to Wi-Fi technology, providing insights into the development and implementation of standards. By leveraging these tools, companies can gain a comprehensive understanding of the patent landscape, identify key players, and make informed decisions regarding licensing, compliance, and strategic planning in the Wi-Fi sector.
How to conduct the search
The IPlytics Platform offers a robust search interface that allows users to explore Wi-Fi-related SEPs with precision and depth. Users can initiate a Wi-Fi SEP search by selecting the technology generation field. Therefore, we will display various search options from Wi-Fi 2 to Wi-Fi 7.
The IPlytics platform supports the use of Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT) to refine search criteria, enabling users to conduct complex and targeted searches. Additionally, the filter bar provides options to narrow down results based on attributes such as active status, granted status, and more, ensuring that users can quickly access the most pertinent data.
The default search option for Wifi 2 – Wifi 7 SEPs will always display officially declared patents either from the declaration made to SSOs or from patent pool information.
One of the key features of the Wi-Fi SEP search is the ability to include potentially relevant undeclared patents. This feature allows users to gain a more comprehensive view of the Wi-Fi patent landscape, identifying patents that may be essential to Wi-Fi standards but have not been formally declared.
Potential undeclared Wi-Fi patents can be searched for Wi-Fi 4, Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 6. To search for undeclared patents, you need to select your Wi-Fi search parameter like Wi-Fi 6 in the technology generation field. A dropdown arrow will appear next to the search field and allow you to include relevant undeclared patents in your search (see below screenshots). Therefore, you will be able to access the whole undeclared landscape.
Summary
Overall, the Wi-Fi SEP search on the IPlytics Platform is an essential tool for researchers, analysts, and decision-makers seeking to navigate the complex landscape of Wi-Fi patents and standards. By providing detailed insights and robust search capabilities, the platform empowers users to make informed decisions and stay ahead in the competitive world of wireless communication.
