What is included in the Standards and Contributions dataset?
LexisNexis Standards and Contributions provides structured records of published technical standards, their revision history, contributions submitted during standards development, and meeting attendance documentation.
The dataset aggregates information from standards-setting organizations including 3GPP, IEEE, ETSI, IETF, and the JVET/VVC, JCT-VC/HEVC, and JVT/AVC video-coding bodies, and delivers it as four connected, structured tables designed for integration into your own research or analytics environment.
What data coverage does it provide?
Standards development contributions:
- 3GPP (TDocs): 1,737,705 records
- IEEE: 159,919 records
- JVET/VVC: 14,741 records
- JCT-VC/HEVC: 9,741 records
- JVT/AVC: 3,151 records
Meeting attendance:
- 3GPP: 573,107 records
Standard revisions:
- ETSI: 64,900 records
- IETF: 9,655 records
Coverage, metadata, and status values can vary by standards-setting organization and source. Coverage is not guaranteed to be complete across every standards-setting organization, document, or historical period.
How is the data structured and delivered?
Standards and Contributions is delivered as four customer-facing tables:
| Table | What it contains | Typical use |
| standard | The latest available record for each published technical standard or specification. Records without version information are retained. | Identifying published standards and reviewing their core metadata. |
| standard_revision | Published versions and revision history for standards and specifications. | Tracking how a standard has changed over time. |
| contribution | Documents, proposals, and other contributions submitted during standards development. | Exploring development activity and associated organizations. |
| meeting_attendance | Attendance records for standards-development meetings. | Adding meeting context and understanding participation. |
See Standards Essential Patent Data: Data Delivery options and integration for how to access these tables.
Full field-level definitions and representative data examples for each table are maintained in a separate Schema Definition (Data Dictionary) document. Please contact us here if you'd like to receive this documentation and a member of the team will reach out to you.
What relationships exist between the tables?
Available identifiers can help connect standards, revision history, and related contributions, and meeting and meeting-date data can provide context for contribution activity. These relationships should be treated as useful analytical links, not guaranteed one-to-one matches. Some values may be blank when the underlying source does not publish or reliably provide the information.
Summary
