Introduction
You can upload your own PowerPoint file (custom template) to PatentSight to download your analyses in your own corporate identity. Your custom template needs to meet the following three minimum requirements:
A Slide Master with only one Layout Master
The Slide Master of your PowerPoint file may have only one Layout Master. If your template contains more than one Layout Master – which for most templates will be the case –, you will have to delete all Layout Masters but one before uploading the file as custom template into PatentSight.
At least one slide within the PowerPoint file
Your PowerPoint slide deck should contain one slide with a placeholder for widgets. Your slide deck may contain additional slides, such as a title slide or annex.
Note: The additional slides should not contain any placeholders as defined below.
One placeholder defined as container for widgets
Your slide deck needs to contain at least one slide which has a container which will be recognized by the system as container to be used for your charts and tables. This container needs to be named widgets-container. We recommend allowing a sufficient amount of space on the slide for this container.
Prepare your Slide Master
First, access the Slide Master of your PowerPoint slide deck:
To access the Slide Master of your template, click on "Slide Master" in the "View" tab Here, you can also create a Slide Master from scratch if you want to create a new template. |
Your Slide Master may contain, e.g., predefined fonts and colors, a specific background, your corporate logo and a set of placeholders (text boxes) of predefined size and position.
|
Make sure that your Slide Master contains only one Layout Master. If your Slide Master contains more than one Layout Master, delete all other Layout Masters in the Slide Master. We recommend you keep a Layout Master that contains a large placeholder (text field), and optionally a title field and a footer. The placeholder (text field) is the minimum requirement regarding the slide you need to keep in your slide deck, as outlined in the following step.
Note:
Layout Masters can only be deleted if they are not currently used as slide layout in your slide deck! If this is the case, close the Master View, delete the slides concerned or change the format of the this slide, and then access the Slide Master to delete the Layout Masters.
Prepare your slide deck

Click on "Close Master View" to return to the normal slide view.
