How to customise your view, and create a saved chart set for any report
What are Saved Chart Sets?
Do you have particular 'go-to' charts when looking at your report results? Do you wish that you could easily access these charts every time? Then look no further.
You can create your own set of favourite charts to revisit in every report, or even create a custom chart set for a particular project. There's no limit to the number of chart sets you can create. Not only does it help to streamline the analysis of your reports, but also helps to output the information that's then easy to interpret with the use of our workflow guides.
We even have some saved chart sets already available within the platform relating to specific Cipher workflows such as Competitive Intelligence and Benchmarking. Access these pre-built chart sets and your own custom chart sets in the same place.
The first report view also known as the Cipher report dashboard, provides an overview of all charts available in your report. By creating a 'custom chart set' or sets, you can get to the charts you want to see every time, quickly and easily.
The short video below explains how to select particular charts in your report of interest, and then save them into a 'custom chart set ' or favourite set of charts, that can then be applied to any report moving forward:

How to create a custom chart set
Work more efficiently by selecting and saving favourite charts, to fit your needs.
- Step 1 - Create any report
- Step 2 - From the report dashboard, select the tick in the top right of any chart to add to your 'selected charts' for that report. You can see below that three of the charts have a visible blue tick in the top right corner, which means they have been added to the selected charts for that report. You can then also click 'show only selected charts' in the top right of your report to view only those with the blue tick, focusing in on your charts of interest only.
- Step 3 - To add these chart selections to a saved list of charts which can be applied to any report, click the red 'tick' icon in the top left of your report screen and select 'save'. You can then give that set of charts a name such as 'Competitor Analysis' or 'Technology Study X' for example:
Step 4 - In any future report, this selection of charts can then be applied. In any report, select the tick in the top left of the report, and select load to apply your custom chart set:
Reach out to a member of the Cipher team here if you'd like to apply either of these default views to your Cipher reports:
- Navigate to the Chart sets view on accessing a report, rather than the report overview page of all charts
- Open all new reports with dedicated chart set automatically
